Labor in the Community

UUP invites all full time and part time faculty to apply for the IDAP award ( Individual Development Awards Program.) Kristin MacDonald’s children’s book includes poetry and creative writing for the purpose of using creative methods to heal ones emotional self- which directly relates to what she teaches in the Expressive Arts Therapy classes at SUNY Oswego.

From the UUP website: “IDAP is designed to support a variety of professional development projects or activities by assisting eligible employees to develop their full professional potential and to prepare for advancement.  IDAP provides funding for professional development activities: providing training to improve job performance; enhancing teaching, research capabilities, and improving professional knowledge and skills”

Kristin submitted the application and was thrilled to be approved and get partial funding for this project! She is happy to support UUP as a member and grateful that they support creative endeavors such as this. It was her pleasure to give back to the community when Bill Spreter, President of the CNY Chapter of NYSARA invited me to speak to the gathering of retirees. Kristin hopes that people enjoy the new book and that they are able to begin some emotional health and wellness work using this as a starting point!

  Thank you Kristin for #LaborGivingBack
